TWO people have been charged in connection with an incident in which two men were stabbed.
Police were called to an address in Broxburn Parade in South Ockendon shortly before 3.30am on Sunday, April 9.
A 30-year-old man from London had been stabbed. He was taken to the Royal London Hospital with serious injuries that are not life-threatening.
A 35-year-old man from South Ockendon attended a different hospital with a serious stab wound and remains in a critical but stable condition. He has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Two people have been charged in connection with the investigation.
Joe Buckley, 39, unemployed, of Lavender Grove, Hackney, was charged with GBH and is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday April 11.
Jacqueline Shiels, 37, unemployed, of Fairlane Drive, South Ockendon, has been charged with assisting an offender and is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on May 11.
A 26-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man, both from London, who were arrested on suspicion of GBH, have been released under investigation.

Three men forced their way into a property through the front door and have stabbed a man with what is believed to be a samurai sword.
They have then left the scene.
A man was taken to Royal London hospital and suffered serious injuries that aren’t believed to be life-threatening.
A woman was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
One of the persons suspected to be responsible presented himself at a different hospital having also suffered a serious stab wound that aren’t believed to be life-threatening. .
A 39-year-old man from London, a 37-year-old woman from South Ockendon, a 37-year-old man from London, a 34 year old man from South Ockendon and a 26-year-old woman from London have been arrested.
Police aren’t looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
