AN AVELEY man is set to stand trial on a number of charges in relation to attempting to contact children for sexual purposes.
Simon Clifton, aged 44, of Tany Mead, Aveley has been charged with the following.
Between 25/04/2018 and 16/05/2018 at South Ockendon being a person aged 18 or over, attempted for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally communicated with another, a person under 16 who you did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over, the communication being, sexual, namely engaging in sexual and explicit conversation via social chat apps.
Between 09/02/2018 and 08/04/2018 at South Ockendon being a person aged 18 or over, attempted for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally communicated with another, a person under 16 who you did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over, the communication being, sexual,
Between 03/03/2018 and 10/05/2018 at South Ockendon, being a person aged 18 or over, attempted for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally communicated with another, a person under 16 who you did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over, the communication being, sexual, namely engaging in sexual and explicit conversation via social chat apps.
Between 07/05/2018 and 16/05/2018 at South Ockendon, being a person aged 18 or over, attempted for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally communicated with another, a person under 16 who you did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over, the communication being, sexual, namely engage in sexual and explicit conversation via social chat apps.
A trial date at Basildon Crown Court has been set for June 18th, 2018.
Clifton has been remanded in custody.
