THREE suspects have been arrested after an aggravated burglary in Grays early this morning in which a noxious substance was used.
Essex Police officers attended the scene in Crammavil Street at around 2.10am and arrested three people who were taken to hospital on suspicion of cannabis cultivation.
A 22-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman, and a 41-year-old woman were transported to hospital and arrested.
The 22-year-old man and 22-year-old woman have now been discharged from hospital and transferred to police custody, however, the 41-year-old woman remains in hospital.
Two police officers were also affected by the unknown substance and treated by paramedics at the scene.
Essex Police said: “It was reported a number of men forced their way into the property and sprayed an unknown substance in the faces of three people inside.
“Investigations are ongoing to identify and locate the men who broke into the property.”
