Police investigating a serious RTC in The Manorway, Corringham are releasing CCTV images of a number of people they want to speak to.
A motorbike was in collision with another motorbike at around 9.15pm on Wednesday, June 14 and the rider, a woman in her 20s, suffered a life-changing leg injury.
Following the crash, the offending motorbike was loaded into a van which had ‘Essex Vehicle Hire’ written on the side.
Detective Inspector Scott Egerton said: “This was a really serious crash at an unauthorised motorbike meet which has left a woman having to have part of her leg amputated.
“We need to identify those people pictured, locate them and speak to them.
“I also want to locate the bike and the van.
“A number of people at this event were wearing black hooded tops with a white logo on the back. I am keen to identify what that logo is, what it refers to, and if it identifies a group they belong to.”
Essex Police has been, and will continue, to carry out activity to disrupt unauthorised events in The Manorway.
DI Egerton added: “These events have not been sanctioned and are a danger to those taking part as well as the vehicles travelling to and from the businesses along The Manorway.
“Roads policing officers have been leading an operation targeting this kind of activity across the county and specifically at this location.
“We have been working in partnership with Thurrock Council and local businesses to tackle the issue and we will continue to do so.
“We have conducted operations at this location and have retrospectively prosecuted people using CCTV footage.
“In addition, people in this area can expect to see an increased police presence in the coming weeks.”
Anyone who recognises any of the people pictured or has any information about this incident is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit via collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk.
