OFFICERS investigating an assault, reported to have happened after a collision between two vehicles in Aveley, are appealing for witnesses and anyone with footage to make contact.
We were called to Sandy Lane at around 7.15am on Monday 15 July to reports a motorist had been assaulted by the driver of a grey Ford transit van and then further assaulted by a passenger from the same vehicle.
The victim, aged in his 20s, told officers that his car (a red Toyota Aygo) and a van were in collision. He says that when he tried to exchange details, the driver put his hands around his neck and attempted to strangle him.
It was further reported that the second suspect, a passenger, also assaulted the victim. The victim suffered injuries to his face and head, which required treatment.
The first suspect is described as a white man, aged in his 40s or 50s, of large build, around 5ft 11ins tall, with stubble on his face and wearing a dark uniform with wording on.
The second suspect is described as a white man, aged in his 20s, of slim build, around 6ft tall, with dark hair and wearing a white cap and a dark uniform.
