DETECTIVES are continuing to appeal for information about the murder of Liam Holden at Grays.
Mr Holden, 35, died after being attacked outside a nightclub in the early hours of Sunday March 10.
A 21-year-old man from Grays who was arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder has been bailed until May 22 pending further enquiries.
Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate continue to carry out extensive investigations into the murder.
Mr Holden had been spending a night out with friends at the Euro Lounge nightclub in Grays on Saturday night, March 9 when it is thought he became involved in a row with another group of people.
At about 2.30am on Sunday he was assaulted in the entrance to the car park for Morrisons supermarket in London Road, about 40 metres from Euro Lounge. He was found with severe head injuries and taken to Queens Hospital, Romford where he died.
DCI Lucy Robinson, who is leading the investigation, said: “It is unclear at this stage whether Mr Holden was involved in any sort of disagreement within the nightclub. However we do know there was an altercation outside the club at the car park entrance, during which Mr Holden was assaulted and sadly died of his injuries.
“We want to talk to anyone who was at the nightclub on Saturday night to Sunday morning who might have information about the circumstances that led to the altercation. We also want to hear from anyone who was in London Road, Grays and saw the events leading to the altercation or the assault, or may have overheard the incident.
“We especially want to find out more about two men who were seen leaving the scene and walking towards Grays town centre, in the direction of the railway station.”
Anyone with information can contact detectives at Grays on 101 or can give information anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555111.
