OFFICERS investigating a serious collision in Stanford-le-Hope are appealing for the drivers of two cars to come forward.

These vehicles are believed to have passed through the scene of the collision, which occurred on Victoria Road at around 1.30am on Monday, December 31, and may have crucial information about the incident.

The collision, in which the driver failed to stop, has left a man in his 30s with life-changing injuries.

The driver has not come forward and no arrests have been made.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We continue to appeal for five pedestrians to come forward. We believe a group of up to five men befriended the victim at Stanford-le-Hope train station at around 11:15pm the previous evening, and may have accompanied him as he walked through the town, towards Victoria Road.

“It is not known if the group were present at the time of the collision, but we believe they will hold valuable information about our victim’s movements beforehand, and we urge them to get in touch.

“If you have relevant information, CCTV, or dash cam footage and have not yet spoken to officers, please call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit through 101. The incident number to quote is 91 of 31/12”.
