ESSEX Police are appealing for information following two incidents in South Ockendon last night, July 20.
A police spokesperson said: “Just after 10pm a local resident called us after they were told by a man near their address, that he believed he was going to be stabbed.
This was in the general area of Annifer Way.
While officers were searching for this man, two people on a scooter were seen.
When they saw the officers, they got off the scooter, which was later found to have been stolen from Dagenham in East London, and ran away.
The scooter has been forensically recovered, as have a sawn off shotgun, a cartridge and a ‘Zombie’ style knife which were found underneath the scooter.
The two people have not been found.
At this stage, we are exploring whether these two incidents are linked, and enquiries are ongoing to locate the man who feared he was going to be stabbed.
“If you have any information which could help our enquiries, or if you are a local resident and saw any suspicious activity, please contact Grays CID on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
