ESSEX Police has arrested two men on suspicion of theft of a car, possession of drugs, going equipped to steal and handling stolen goods on Romford Road, Aveley.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “At around 11.50pm yesterday, Sunday, July 15, our operators had their suspicions about a vehicle and quickly alerted officers believing it to be travelling with fake plates.
“Our officers located the vehicle and signalled to it to stop without success. Following a short pursuit, the vehicle was abandoned in Romford Road, Aveley.
We detained two men, 24 and 36, following a foot chase and they remain in custody for questioning.
