Five in court over road collision on The Manorway, Corringham where woman lost part of leg

FIVE men are due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court later this month to be charged in connection with a serious collision in Corringham last year.

Two motorbikes were in collision in the Manorway at around 9.15pm on Wednesday, June 14.

One of the riders, a woman in her 20s, suffered serious leg injuries.

Five men who were arrested as part of the investigation have now received summons to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, June 28 to face charges.

Billy Boom, 24, of New Zealand Way, Rainham is due to be charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, failing to report a collision, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving with no insurance.

Nicholas Morris, 23, of Kings Park, Canvey Island, Michael Holmes, 27, of Penrith Road, Romford, Daniel Trott, 26, of Lambs Lane South, Rainham, and Sonny Waites, 19, of Upminster Road North, Rainham are all due to be charged with assisting an offender.
