A NEWS article by a top investigative journalist has lifted the lid on drug dealing and gangs in Thurrock.
Award winning Max Daly has worked in the UK and abroad but on this occasion has focussed his gaze on our borough.
It does not make for pleasant reading but for many residents, especially in Grays and Tilbury, it may hold up a mirror to scenes that they see every day.
We would especially draw your attention to the interview with former Thurrock Council Young Offenders Officer, Ceryl Marsh, who takes Max down to the streets of Tilbury where, she says, rival London drug gang members have been relocated in the same street.
The description of Grays High Street is also equally depressing with a description of heroin dealing outside the council offices but it is no less than what many of our readers have been pointing out for quite a while now.
It does beg many questions about the state of crime and disorder in Thurrock in 2018.
