Report by the Port of Tilbury Police

Over the last six months we have been very busy with over 1200 reported incidents. We have also been
updating our current procedures to provide you more professional, and responsive service

Here are some of the highlights

In September 2017, a theft dating back to 2015 was resolved in court and resulted in one male receiving a two year prison sentence and several others received Community Service Orders and suspended prison sentences.

Officers are currently investigating several thefts from tenants within the Port

Two male suspects have been charged and currently awaiting court hearings
for theft of diesel valued in excess of £3,000.

Two arrests have been made and enquiries are still ongoing regarding theft of plywood.

Over the Christmas period, police seized a vehicle that was uninsured and property recovered following an attempted theft from a Port tenant.

In 2017 we took delivery of two new Hyundai police vehicles which are prov- ing to be excellent for high visibility patrolling. We have also trained officers for cycle patrols on our two new Police bikes, so if you see us, give us a wave and stop for a chat.
