ESSEX Police have charged a man with murder following the death of a woman in West Thurrock yesterday, Friday, April 20.
Florin Ion, 31, unemployed, of Ipswich Crescent, Birmingham, is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court today.
A police spokesperson said: “We received reports at 8.30am yesterday that a 47-year-old woman, from Rainham, had been assaulted near to the A1306 Arterial Road.
When we arrived we found a woman who was seriously injured but sadly, despite the best efforts by paramedics, she died a short time later.
“If you saw what happened, were driving in the area and have dash cam footage, or have any other information please call us on 101 quoting incident 228 of 20/04 or scd.appeals.essex@essex.pnn.police.uk.
