ESSEX Police is continuing their investigation into the attempted murder of a 64-year-old man in Purfleet and would like to trace a man who may be able to help us.
Shortly before 8.30pm on Tuesday, January 16, the victim was walking his dog along London Road, when two men, described as having their faces covered and wearing dark clothing, approached the 64-year-old and stabbed him in the chest with a knife. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Prior to the incident, the victim’s had a brief conversation with a man wearing a beige coat when his dog crossed the man’s path. The man was described by the victim as being white, aged between 30 and 40 years, around 5ft 10ins tall and of an average build with dark hair.
