Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner to hold public meeting in Aveley

PEOPLE living and working in the Thurrock District who have an interest in community safety matters are invited to a public meeting being held by Roger Hirst, the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex.

It is being held at the Aveley Methodist Church in Shannon Way, Aveley, RM15 4LU, between 6.30pm and 8pm on Monday, January 29

Details of current crime trends and ongoing operations will be discussed at the meeting. A briefing sheet outlining those is available in advance and is published on the PFCC website. People going along can also ask questions and raise any concerns.

Key areas highlighted in the briefing show that crime levels in the district have increased, as it has across other parts of Essex and nationally. However, thanks to dedicated policing and partnership operations some crime types, such as levels of Anti-Social Behaviour have reduced.

Roger Hirst said: “I welcome the opportunity to meet with local residents and I would urge anybody who wants to have their say on community safety issues in the area to come along.”

Jane Gardner, the Deputy Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex, plus representatives from Thurrock Police’s Command Team, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and the local Community Safety Partnership will also be attending the event.

More information about the work of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex is available on www.essex.pfcc.police.uk and also on the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex’s social media channels. Search for @EssexPFCC on Facebook and Twitter.
