Grays Launderette murder: Police make further arrests and appeal

POLICE investigating an aggravated burglary at a laundrette in Grays where a body was found are appealing for information about any suspicious activity around the time of the incident.

Officers received reports at around 10pm on Monday, December 4, that up to five people entered Baylee’s in Southend Road, Grays, armed with weapons.

During that incident, a 39-year-old man from Milton Keynes suffered multiple injuries and died with the others fleeing the scene.

A post mortem examination to establish the cause of death is due to take place today (Wednesday, December 6).

Officers want to hear from anyone working in the area of the laundrette, which was open at the time of the incident , and from people who were passing by between 9pm and 10pm.

This also includes anyone using the rear access road of the laundrette, which may have been used by the assailants to enter the building.

Officers have arrested a 28-year-old man in Hertfordshire today on suspicion of aggravated burglary and he remains in custody for questioning.

A 39-year-old man from Grays arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday, December 4, has been released on bail until Thursday, December 28, pending further enquiries.
