A total of 129 drivers were spoken to in the area around intu Lakeside shopping centre in Thurrock on Sunday, November 11.
Thirty-four were found to have illegally tinted windows; 20 people were found to be driving vehicles without a valid MOT and 31 people were dealt with for not wearing seatbelts. Three drivers were found to be transporting young children who were not in car seats.
Three drivers were dealt with for using mobile phone, four for having number plates that did not conform to regulations and three for driving vehicles in a dangerous condition.
Officers also dealt with one driver for driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and MOT, using a vehicle in a dangerous condition and obstructing a police officer. Two passengers were given fixed penalty notices for obstructing a police officer. The vehicle was seized.
