Kevin Malthouse murder: Grays man makes first appearance in court

A MAN has appeared in court in connection with the death of a man from Stanford-le-Hope.

Jack Taylor, 18, a sales assistant, of Oakley Close, Grays, was charged with the murder of Kevin Malthouse, 24.

He was also charged with three counts of wounding with intent.

Taylor appeared at Basildon Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday July 4 and has been remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court tomorrow, Wednesday July 5.

A 22-year-old man from Grays who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on conditional bail, pending further enquiries.

A 21-year-old man from South Ockendon who was arrested on suspicion of murder was released without charge and faces no further action.
