TWO East Tilbury brothers have slammed burglars who ransacked their mother’s home.
Robert and Nick Lay have issued a joint statement in which they issue their disgust at the heartless thieves.
They said: “As you my be aware Thurrock has hit an all time high in the burglary rate and especially it seems East Tilbury is a huge target for these mindless thieves.
The impact this has on victims is more or less forgotten.
Until February 14th (Tuesday), my mum, Linda Lay, an East Tilbury resident since the Bata factory days, has lived in her house on King George V1 Avenuefor 48 years.
It was the marital home, where my brother and I were brought up.
Imagine the shock of coming home and finding the back door window smashed and the house inside has been turned upside down.
Amongst the items stolen was sentimental jewellery rings, chains, bracelets that my late father had brought for her.
“They even took their engagement ring and wedding ring.
“Essex Police has found lots of finger prints and me and my family hope they find a match on the database very soon they must be stopped”.
