VEHICLES and people were searched and one man was arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs during an operation carried out by the Op Raptor West team.
Officers used Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology during the operation on the A1306 in Thurrock last Thursday (February 9th) to target those travelling through the area involved in the possession or supply of drugs.
Supported by Police Dog Shifty, the officers carried out four searches of individuals and two full vehicles searches.
During one vehicle search, Shifty sniffed out some bags of what is believed to be cannabis hidden behind an interior roof panel.
A 25-year-old man from Dagenham was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply.
Sgt Scott Fitzmaurice of the Op Raptor West team said: “This operation demonstrates that our team pro-actively goes looking for those involved in the illegal possession and supply of drugs.
“Those involved in the illicit drugs trade do use the roads and when they do we will be waiting for them.”
The arrested man has been released on bail until April while police continue their enquiries.
