TWO people have been arrested and stolen goods worth £1,000 has been recovered as part of a burglary investigation.

Police were alerted to an aggravated burglary in Buxton Road, Grays, at about 9.30am on Thursday 15 February.

During that incident, a group of armed people held a victim at knifepoint and assaulted them. They left with a Canada Goose coat and a TV.

Acting on intelligence gathered by investigative officers in Grays, officers from the Operational Support Group and firearms officers attended an address in Grays, yesterday afternoon, Saturday 17 February.

Officers entered the home and arrested two men on suspicion of aggravated burglary. Both remain in custody.

Items of interest were also seized during a search of the property and a white Land Rover of interest has been forensically recovered for examination.

Superintendent Steve Scott-Haynes, of our operational policing command (OPC), said: “Burglary and aggravated burglary has a significant impact on victims, far beyond the financial loss they may face.

“When these incidents do happen, officers across the force work together as one team in order to identify suspects and ultimately make arrests and reunite items with their owners.”
