DETECTIVES would like to thank staff at a pub in Fobbing after they alerted us to concerns for a woman’s welfare.
Staff working in The Beefeater on High Road called us around 8.15pm on Tuesday evening, October 18.
They reported concerns for a woman who looked unwell while leaving their premises with a man.
Within 30 minutes, officers were on scene to check on her welfare and found the woman unconscious.
The staff members had remained with her until help arrived.
After being assessed by paramedics, she was taken to hospital to receive further treatment.
A 54-year-old man from Kent, believed to be known to the woman, was arrested on suspicion of administering a noxious substance.
He has been bailed with conditions while we carry out enquiries to determine how the woman became unwell.
Detective Chief Inspector Nick Hampson said:
“I’d like to thank the members of staff who came to the aid of the woman last night. They made every effort to make sure she was okay and alert us to their concerns.
“Our officers work closely with licensed premises around the county to safeguard our communities and it’s quick-thinking actions like these that really make a difference.
“If you’re on a night out and see anything suspicious or notice that someone has suddenly become unwell, please report it as soon as you can.”
