Police appeal after serious assault in Grays

ESSEX Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Grays.

Officers were called to Dock Road to reports that two people had been in collision with a vehicle at around 11.30pm on Thursday 25 August. 

They were both taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening. 

This incident is believed to be linked to an earlier altercation in a nearby pub.

A man and a woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH.

They have both been bailed until 19 and 20 September.

Det Chief Inspector Tony Atkin said: “We understand this incident might have been concerning to anyone in the area who witnessed. But this was an isolated incident. Please speak to our officers if you have any concerns.” 

Anyone with information about the incident, or who has footage of it which has not yet been passed to us, is asked to contact us as soon as possible.
