POLICE want to hear from anyone with information about the theft of a furnace from a warehouse in Alfred Street in Grays. Thieves got into the Grays Auction Rooms sometime between 4pm on Friday February 7 and 10.30am the next day, by forcing the padlock on the shutters and then the front door.
Once inside they removed a distinctive Flamefast electronic furnace – very similar to the one in the attached picture. This item cost around £7,500 and is used for the smelting of metals.
PC Peter Cooper of Grays Police Station, said: ”This is a quite an unusual and distinctive item which has a very specific industrial purpose and is very recognisable. If anyone has seen this property or been offered such an item for sale I would ask them to contact me immediately at Grays Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
