POLICE in Grays are appealing for information following a road rage incident in the town just before Christmas.

A 33-year-old man was driving to work in his red Vauxhall Corsa on the Orsett Road in Grays at around 7am on Monday December 23. He was allegedly cut up at the traffic lights near the Morrisons store by a silver Ford Focus. The Corsa driver, who is from Rainham, flashed the Focus which started braking.

The Focus driver got out of his vehicle and hit the front screen of the Corsa as it drove along the road with a metal bar which cracked the window. The driver of the Corsa continued with his journey to work in Grays but had to stop at the traffic lights outside the Thameside Theatre. He saw the Focus also stop at the lights from the right. The driver of the Focus got out of his car again and threw the metal bar in the rear window of the Corsa, smashing it. The Corsa driver was left shaken by the incident but was not injured. He continued with his journey to work.

The Focus driver is described as white, aged around 40, 5ft 10ins tall, with short brown cropped hair with stubble. He was of slim build and was wearing old jeans and a grey jumper. The Ford Focus is thought to be on an X registration plate.
