A MAN faces trial on thirteen counts in connection with unlawfully packaged cigarettes.
Ismael Kadri, aged 22, of 40 Ibscott Close, Dagenham has been charged as follows.
On 13/04/2018 at Grays supplied a tobacco product for smoking, namely 200 packets of Richmond Cigarettes , the unit pack of which did not carry a combined health warning as required by regulation 5 of the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016, in that product did not carry a combined health warning in English (as required by Regulation 11 (4)(a)) containing one of the text warnings listed in Annex 1 to the Tobacco Products Directive together with the corresponding colour photograph, as specified in the picture library in annex II of the Directive and the following smoking cessation information ‘Get help to stop smoking at www.nhs.uk/quit’.
The case has been brought by Thurrock Council.
He has been remanded in unconditional bail until November 27th when he is set to reappear at Basildon magistrates court.
