ESSEX Police are appealing for dash cam footage after an incident on the A13 in Thurrock during the early hours of Monday 26 August.
Officers attended reports that a man was walking in the central reservation of the A13, at the junction of the A1089, shortly after 3.35am.
The man then crossed from the Southend-bound carriageway to the London-bound carriageway, where officers attempted to bring him to safety.
During the struggle, one of our officers was thrown into the live lane of the A13, and narrowly avoided a collision with a passing car. Our officer suffered a broken bone in her hand as a result of the assault.
A 49-year-old man from the Isle of Dogs in East London was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and has since been released under investigation.
Anyone who was driving through the scene at the time and has dash cam footage, or who saw any of the incidents mentioned above, is urged to call DC James Gray at Grays CID as soon as possible.
