Liam Holden murder trial to start on Wednesday

TWO men will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on September 18 for their trial for the murder of Liam Holden who was killed in Grays on March 10, 2013.

Owen Wood, now aged 24, and Ryan Wood, 21, brothers both from Godman Road in Grays are charged with murder and the trial is expected to last at least three weeks.

Liam Holden, 35, from Grays, had been on a night out with his partner, family and friends to celebrate a birthday when he became involved in a dispute with two men.

He was assaulted in a car park near Morrisons on London Road at 2.30am on Sunday, March 10, 2013 and was taken to Queens Hospital in Romford but sadly died a short time later. The post mortem examination showed he died of head injuries (diffuse axonal injury).
