THERE WILL be extra patrols at Thurrock centres of worship after an arson attacks in another part of the county.
YT’s sister paper, YourHarlow reported on the arson attack on the Harlow Muslim Centre on Sunday night/Monday morning.
The attack took the form of insulation foam placed strategically around the centre and set alight.
The centre is a mile away from the home where, last year, five members of the same Muslim family perished in a fire.
There has also been reports of offensive DVDs being sent to mosques across London.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We will be directing patrols to mosques and other places of worship in order to reassure worshippers.
“There is a live investigation being undertaken at the moment.
“There is nothing to suggest that an incident is likely to occur.”
