ESSEX Police are appealing for information following burglaries at two shops in Thurrock which we believe are linked.

A vehicle was used to break into Town Centre Jewellers in St Johns Way, Corringham at around 3.45am then a shop in St Chads Road, Tilbury about 40 minutes later.

On each occasion it was reported the driver of the vehicle was a man wearing a cap and a hooded top and there was a female passenger.

We believe the vehicle, a light purple-coloured Mitsubishi Grandis, had been stolen from an address in Boscombe Avenue, Grays earlier in the night.

We’re also linking these incidents to an attempted break-in at an address in Melba Gardens, Tilbury.

It was reported two men were seen trying get into the property before making off in a Vauxhall Zafira-type vehicle which had damaged rear windows.

We’ve also had a report two men in hooded tops getting into what has been described as a dark green people carrier in

Princess Margaret Road, East Tilbury and believe that may also be linked.

If you saw or heard anything or have any CCTV or dash cam footage we need you to come forward.

We believe the vehicle involved will be distinctive due to the damage it will have sustained during the incidents.

If you have any information please call Grays CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
