ESSEX Police roads policing officers arrested 12 people for various offences in just 24 hours last week.
A spokesperson said: “We arrested a boy, 17, from Hutton, on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply, a boy, 16, from Brentwood, on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply and assault with intent to resist arrest and a man, 24, from Hutton, on suspicion of possession of offensive weapon, drug driving and possession of drugs with intent to supply.
They were arrested after a car failed to stop in Hutton at around 9.25pm on Thursday, November 16.
The following morning in Basildon we arrested three men, aged 18, 27 and 28, from Basildon, and a man, 47, from Pitsea, on suspicion of drug driving.
“We made three further drug drive arrests after pulling over a man, 30, from Dagenham, a boy, 17, and a man, 41, from Pitsea, in Victoria Avenue, Southend.
“We also arrested a man, 62, from Nottinghamshire on suspicion of fraud by false representation after stopping a car in Greenstead Road, Colchester.
All the people above remain under investigation.
“We also charged Ashton Harley, 19, from Somerset Road, Linford, with drink driving after stopping a car in The Manorway, Stanford-le-Hope at around 2am that morning.
He is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 17.
