FOUR people have been arrested following reports of an offensive weapon being seen in South Ockendon.
The police were called to Fullarton Crescent just after 7pm.
Officers attended and followed a Vauxhall Astra to Gatehope Drive, where several men exited the car.
After giving chase on foot and searching the car for remaining passengers, all the occupants believed to be in the vehicle were arrested for various offences.
A 20-year-old woman from Basildon and two 19-year-old men from Aveley were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis.
A 20-year-old man from Clacton was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis, possession of a knife or bladed article and failing to provide a breath test.
They remain in custody for questioning.
