ESSEX Police have charged a man with assault by beating.
Paul Waters, 39, of Alderton Road, Orsett, is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, September 20.
A police spokesperson said: “We received reports that a woman had got into a vehicle after being assaulted in Southend Road, Stanford-le-Hope, at around 6.45pm on Thursday, August 16.
“We were only given the first half of the car’s registration but a controller handler carried out some additional searches and managed to find the remaining details.
“We attended an address linked to the vehicle and arrested a man”.
